Joshua Wiedekopf, M. Sc.

Joshua is a research associate at the Institut of Medical Informatics and the IT Center for Clinical Reserach at the University of Lübeck in the north of Germany. Since 2020, he has been working extensively with the utilization of controlled terminology, especially with regards to HL7-FHIR based terminology servers.

Currently, Joshua is working on a dissertation at the University of Lübeck in this area, in the context of which a number of papers of which have already been published on the topic of the establishment of TS and the implementation of neccessary tooling.

Moreover, Joshua is active in the WG Medical Terminologies and Classifications (Medizinische Terminologien und Klassifikationen, MTK) of the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS), and is a member of the relevant committee of the MII, especially the Task Force Terminological Services of the WG Interoperability; he is also a Member of the expert group of the gematik.
